I want to reach out and congratulate you on making it through Phase 1 of the BlackFem curriculum! This will be the beginning of our monthly blog posts. As we prepare for the Performance Assessment, I wanted to reach out and give you the top five tips for teacher prep:
Review the extended lesson plans.
Review the powerpoints.
Watch and participate in the webinars.
Look over the student and teacher facing More Money More Problems materials.
Brainstorm areas where students might have confusion or areas where you can leverage student investment.
When reviewing the lesson, try to identify the areas where a student might be confused. Also note that the teacher identified places to connect the material to previous lessons, important ideas to stress, how to connect different resources to increase student access, and opportunities for students to have a rich discussion. This teacher also reached out to clarify some areas of confusion. This teacher identified the best resource to use during teacher prep, the BlackFem staff!
The key to success with BlackFem curriculum is teacher prep. We are always ready to help you prep so never feel hesitant to reach out!
